mothers day

i just read on the web its mothers day this weekend.
then i realised this blog has all been about me, alittle selfish really, and ive not mentioned mum once.

theres 5 days in the year i think about my mum the most - her yartzheit - 19th av, the day she passed away - july 28th, her birthday the 19th september, my parents anniversary - 7th november and mothers day.

maybe some of you reading this never knew my mum. she really was an incredible woman. always busy, always enjoying herself, always right, and with the most incredible numebr of friends. everyone loved my mum. amazingly its coming up to 3 years since she passed away. i cant believe it that its been so long and that me, zoe, dad and andrew were able to get on with our lives and become relatively succesful. kol hakovod (i couldnt be bothered to change my keyboard to hebrew that time!).

mum was an inspiration, and to say was is something that i still find insanely difficult.
i always remember the last mothers day. mum had found out she was going to have chemo again and me andrew bought her 2 hats, one of which she wore alot during her illness towards the end.

these things are so personal and hard to explain and here i am laying myself bare on the world wide web. sometimes these posts are for everyone, sometimes some people will understand more from them than others.

this is for u all, but mostly to let u know - dad, zoe, marc, andrew.
miss u.
Evonne Last Ztzl. she would have been 57.

Lovely words Jeremy. Your mum would have been proud. She did indeed leave a trail of warmth and friendship around her and has obviously left you to reflect on a sense of values that will be with you for a lifetime. We miss her too. We are enjoying your updates from Marc & Zoe and pleased you are enjoying your new life.
Love Hazel & John

A most touching tribute from you, Jeremy to a wonderful lady. She was a true Eshet Chayil in every sense. We still think of Evonne regularly and miss her very much. Glad to hear that you are doing well in the Holy Land.

Best wishes from Pam and David Cohen
